Welcome to the home of mindful.
Who am I?
Hi there, I’m Laura. I’m a yoga teacher and NHS doctor.
.
About me.
I work as a GP for the NHS in Brighton.
My interests, in work, are largely around the impact of psychological trauma on our health.
My interests, outside of work, are in books that make me think (anything beautifully written), running (when I feel like it) and playing the cello (when I get over my need for external validation).
The most important thing in my life is my family.
I’m currently reading The Untethered Soul by Michael A. Singer and The God of Small Things, by Arundhati Roy.
As a recovering validation addict, I struggle with procrastination.
I love my friends dearly, but am not great at replying promptly on Whatsapp.
I buy things, beautiful things, which makes me happy - if only for a short time. I’m trying to work through my need for this.
Since living by myself, I have learnt that my natural state is probably to do slightly less, and that my favourite colour is pink.
Two of my favourite things in the world are Taylor Swift songs and Friends.
I’m a cat person, and I hate our insistence on choosing between cats and dogs, because they’re so different.
Teaching yoga gives me energy and joy, and the feeling that I’m contributing to my local community.
Writing makes me feel alive.
